I took this picture years ago - September of 2014, to be exact - in Acadia National Park in Maine, USA. Otter Cove is one of my favorite places to be along the Park Loop Road. I have taken many pictures along this stretch of the road that will probably end up on this blog sooner or later! It's never quite the same place twice. The tide is different, or the sun is different, or the season is different. At high tide, the water comes nearly to the road. At low tide, there are lots of places to walk and interesting tidepools to explore. Looking one way gets you a view of the ocean; turning around 180 degrees gets you the cove. Sometimes there are kayakers out there, and I've seen eagles, deer, and other wildlife along here. In winter, it's closed to traffic, but it's not an unreasonable walk from a nearby parking lot with a sturdy pair of boots or snowshoes. In short, it's a photographer's dream - one place with endless variety of potential images. This is just one of my favorites.
